A girl put together with sea foam, daisies and fire ant venom. Far too brutal a love to be anything but a summer ghost.
I love how the fire ants glow!!! What’s your theme for the Sketchbook Project?
My theme was “The Grey Side of Life” but I have abandoned it. Now my theme is probably Bugs and Beauties? I don’t know. I am charmed with the idea that a woman can be so graceful with fearful, creepy things. Or that a beautiful person can be covered in something unsettling.
Utterly luminescent and so strangely unperturbed by these stinging creatures! Odd gorgeousness!
I know, right? They look so stingy and burny. Thank you!
Rubin, your descriptions are as poetic as your illustrations. That’s a terrific combination of colors. Quite electrifying. Is anyone else besides me feeling itchy?
Have a great Thanksgiving!
I’m always itchy in the winter. Maybe that’s why I’m into the bugs lately? 🙂
Hey Rubin!! Sorry I have been away for so long… but it’s good to take a pause and see all the amazing things people create while we are gone (right? you know what I mean?! hehe) so here I am and wow… your work is brilliant. I don’t know how you do it, but you improve with time (like a good red wine, I guess!! hehe) Really dig this one.. the light on the ants… haaa… like!!! and the texture too… very very sweet! 🙂
No biggie. I’m glad you come by at all! Thanks!
the ants are beautiful! Well, the whole drawing is but with the ants it’s magical! And the texture on her skin – super!
Thank you nancy.
You, yourself know, how long I have been a fan of the one and only Mr. Rubin Pingk!!! I want to get a print of this picture, with the artist’s signature of course, frame it and hang in my house.
