Sketchbook Project: Cover (again)

The first cover ended up not representing the content (next year, I will do the cover last). This is my second attempt at a cover, which will give viewers an indication to the content of the work.

Rubot Says, “Merry Christmas!”

The next time you leave your car running in the cold to warm it up, remember that robots prefer to sit on warm cars the same way cats prefer to sit on warm keyboards.

Illustration Friday: Separated

Title: Weather, two kinds. (Separated)
I spliced these together from two illustrations in which I used a drip method on top of my normal illustrative stylings.

Sketchbook Project: The Jewel Thief

It was obvious the jewelers had a bit of a bug problem to the police investigating the robbery. Neither the jewelers nor the police suspected it was the bugs taking the precious gems.

Redigital.

If I ever wanted to torture someone, I would make them watch me color stuff digitally. I experiment constantly in the “rendering” phase. It can get messy. Here are two digitally colored pieces.

Batman and Robin (IF: Fuel)

Batman Arkham City came out this week, which I have played to excess. It was a fantastic game.
This style marries my Licorice and Crimson styles, I think.

The Beetle Prince

“Don’t bug me” he says.
She offers him a gift.

A tiny bird with a beating heart like his. He takes it home to grow among the bugs. It devours all he knows, pecking at the maggoty meat inside each kindred shell until it is just him and the bird.
“I’ve made a mistake” he thinks. He thrusts the husk of a pincer through a feathered breast.

Somewhere the flower girl laughs and gives away another bird to different insect boy.

Ninja, Ninja Everywhere!

My current project is a children’s book called “Samurai Santa.” I hope to have it done and self published by Christmas, with perhaps a wider distribution (involving a deal, ahem, to any childrens book publishers) for 2012.
